Instructions for Searching MVS Database
The title search searches only the romanized title field. You can search the romanized title field using a phrase like 'Meiji kyoiku'.
This is a keyword search so it looks to see if a particular word or words appears within the title search. Unlike a subject search, the words don't have to have any particular meaning, they just have to show up in the item being searched.
However, please note that some of the catalog records upon which the database has been created used diacritical marks and others did not. The search performed is a non-sensitive search so if you search for Shoho, you will get both Shoho and Shōhō.
You can narrow your search by using the title field with any of the other parameters or you can use any of the other parameters individually or together.
